Why?
Photography has the power to preserve culture, challenge assumptions, and connect people across backgrounds. Echoes of Culture creates a platform for photographers to share the traditions, identities, and experiences that continue to shape their lives.
Grants & Opportunities
Need-Based Exhibition Grants
MONAD offers a limited number of need-based exhibition grants to help make participation more accessible. Grants are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are intended to assist artists with the professional printing and framing of their selected work for the exhibition. Artists requesting support may be asked to provide additional information as part of the review process.
About the Exhibition
Culture is never static. It is carried through family, language, ritual, food, music, fashion, celebration, faith, and everyday life. It changes over time while remaining deeply connected to the people who shape it.
Echoes of Culture brings together photographers from across the United Kingdom whose work reflects the cultures that influence their lives. Some stories may be rooted in Britain. Others may trace connections across continents and generations. Together, they reveal the many ways culture is remembered, practiced, and reimagined.
Rather than defining culture through a single perspective, the exhibition embraces a wide range of experiences and approaches to image-making. We welcome photographs that document lived experience, celebrate tradition, explore identity, or simply observe moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Who We're Looking For
We invite photographers from across the United Kingdom working in all photographic genres. Whether your work is documentary, portraiture, street photography, fashion, fine art, or experimental, we are looking for projects that offer an honest perspective on culture through photography.
